Mobility Programs

Depending on your university and country where it is based, there are several mobility programmes that allow you to study at different universities on an international level. Each institution has institutional agreements in different countries, so it is necessary to contact the mobility office, in order to understand what opportunities are available.

Erasmus+

Through Erasmus+ it is possible to spend up to 1 year abroad with for each degree of studies – Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. The programme offers financial support and academic recognition for studies, research periods and internships abroad.

Other Mobilities

Besides Erasmus+, universities have other agreements to studied outside Europe, from financed to non-financed programmes. These opportunities depend on each university and to ensure the options available, it is necessary to contact the universities’ mobility office.

Grants for Studying or Researching Abroad

We know that sometimes the most difficult thing to study and do research abroad is the financial obstacles. For this reason, if you are interested in studying abroad, we advise to search for scholarships in the European Funding Guide, in EURAXESS and on the websites of the educational institutions where you would like to study, because in many countries, universities and foundations offer scholarships for international students.

Can I study through Erasmus+ and volunteer with the European Solidarity Corps at the same time?

No, because you can not receive double funding from Erasmus+, but if you do not receive a scholarship to study you can volunteer with the European Solidarity Corps at the same time. In addition, there are possibilities to receive double funding if it doesn’t come from Erasmus+, for example Service Civique.

My University does not have mobility agreements with the University where I want to study, what can I do?

You can contact the mobility office of your university and suggest to make an institutional agreement, but that does not mean that they will and the process can be time consuming.

Can I do an internship and study abroad at the same time?

Yes, many of these programmes allow you to do both at the same time, especially if you have mandatory internships in your degree. If you would like to find more option regarding international internships, check out our page.

What mobility opportunities are there for high school students?

There are some options through Erasmus+ and it should be your school applying. You advise you to talk with them. There are other options like United World Colleges or AFS.
